021Congratulations to all the family high school graduates!! You have completed a milestone. Below is the information necessary to apply for the family scholarship. Please adhere to the criteria listed for application.

Eligibility

To apply for the Louise Butts Academic Scholarship you must meet the following requirements:

1. Must be a 1st year college student at an accredited 2 year or 4 year institution

2. Butts Family Member; Student must be an active participant in the reunion (attended 2 out of the last 4 reunions) Scholarship recipient must be present to receive the award.

3. Be committed to using education to better your life and that of your family and community.

4. Must provide proof after completion of 1st semester that student is in good standing

    • proof can be a copy of grades with school seal or a letter from the school, proof of academic standing must be postmarked by 7/1 – entries postmarked after 7/1 will not be considered).

5. Work 3 hours of family service during the reunion and help plan youth reunion activities or workshop for the upcoming reunion.

6. Complete a 500 word essay answering the following questions or create your own question. Created questions must be submitted for approval.

    • Approval request for a created question must be sent to info.buttsfamilyreunion@gmail.com or
    • Answer one of the following questions below?
        • What will I do in the future to sustain the legacy of the Butts Family Reunion?
        • What have I learned by attending the reunions that will bring lifelong lessons and memories?

Deadline

The Louise Butts Scholarship is open each year from August 1 through June 15.

Your application must be submitted online or postmarked via mail by June 15th before the reunion to be considered for that year’s reunion in July.

Scholarship Donations

If you would like to donate to the scholarship fund you can do so with a credit card payment right here or you can mail the donations in a check or certified funds to the address above.  You can select a customized amount by selecting $1.00 and adjusting the quantity in the cart. Please remember to account for the PayPal fees when you select the custom option. The fees have been included in the set amounts.
